Bill Detail
An Act respecting the holding of a pan-Canadian conference on time change
This enactment provides that a pan-Canadian conference on time change must be held with representatives of the provincial governments, Indigenous governing bodies and other relevant stakeholders, and that a report on the conference must be published online.
Bill C-248 proposes to establish a national conference to discuss time changes across Canada. This conference would bring together representatives from provincial governments, Indigenous governing bodies, and various stakeholders like health experts and people from different sectors. The goal is to discuss issues related to time changes, including economic impacts and health studies, and explore the possibility of a more unified approach nationwide.
Following the conference, a report detailing the discussions and recommendations would be published online. This bill aims to foster discussion and potentially lead to a more consistent approach to time changes across the country, affecting how Canadians experience daylight saving time.
