Bill Detail
An Act respecting the development of a national renewable energy strategy
This enactment requires the Minister of Natural Resources, in consultation with the provincial government representatives responsible for energy matters, to develop and implement a national strategy to provide that, by December 31, 2030, 100% of electricity generated in Canada must be from renewable energy sources.
This bill, if passed, would require the Minister of Natural Resources to create a national strategy for Canada to generate 100% of its electricity from renewable sources by the end of 2030. This strategy would involve working with provincial governments and Indigenous governing bodies to increase investment in renewable energy research and development, encourage the creation of more renewable energy projects than non-renewable ones, and support the growth of a renewable energy economy and jobs. It also aims to incentivize homeowners and businesses to adopt renewable energy technologies.
